There are many types of connectors that can be used to terminate the end of a coax cable in a CCTV application. Some of the things to keep in mind would be: 1) Is the connector made to fit on the cable you are using. 2) If the connector is a crimp type, do you have the correct crimping tool. 3) Leave enough slack on the cable so that there is no strain on the connector. 4) Use adapter connectors when situation is called for.
One could write a small book on the finer details of what connector to use where and how to make them.
